TitleChoosing between HD and Standard Definition
Description

These days, many people think they can easily pick up an HD camera and think they will receive the same "look" as a movie in HD. Unfortunately, this is not true. When a company chooses to shoot in HD, they still have to degrade the final look when editing. As the final edited piece is finished it is then put back into a standard definition final package.

This is weird! yes, your right..That is weird. So your paying hi-def prices when the video really and truly isnt hi-def.

There are two types of High Definition. There is HD and HDV, although the sample look varies, keep in mind. It still is Standard Defintion via DVD.

ProHD" is a marketing term, it is the name of their camera line. It is really a nonsense name that just sounds good.

In a sense it's misleading because many people thought it was a new format (myself included). But, it is important to understand what's going on behind the scenes and get past the hype.

How will the public know?

They will do their research, they will look at the facts and not just the brochures.
They will learn.

Anyone unwilling to learn about a camera and a format before spending up to $10,000 on new gear deserves any problems or dissapointments they get from their gear, quite honestly.

It will be interesting to see how it all sorts out. For now at least, when the final edit is transfered to a dvd, it still turns back into Standard Definition (SD).

For more questions on videos for weddings or quinceneras please contact Counterpart Films and they will get you started on the right video for the right price in HD or SD.

YES! They can make your sweet 16 3D
